Off Season Notes

- recruiting 35, training 55, Discipline 10
- 4th year JRs C Demario Hickman and 1st Team All American DT Jaimie Hughes, put wallets ahead of education and declared for the NFL Draft
- FS Dave Johnson transfers to Troy
- Bama pulls off #11 recruiting class headlined by 5 stars WR Ek Chua Smith of Anchorage and T Warren Lewis of the 9-1-5 El Paso
- Best recruiting move however was convincing Seth Sanchez to stay for his Senior year, even though he was a shoe in as a Top 5 pick.
- 3 position changes are made: Jim Lane WR – CB, Ernest Sims SS – MLB, & P.J. Nelson T – C
2015_Lane- After Spring workouts Jim Lane (#41WR) improves the most with his overall rating going up by 15 (move to CB was smort by moi). He will still wear the number 86 and still thinks he’s a WR sometimes during practice

Class of 2012

Led by Seth Sanchez, the class of 2012 seems commited to winning a national title, as no one from the #1 rated class left early for the NFL Draft. Of the 20 recruits, 16 will be starters in 2015 and only two are no longer with the team, Carlos Roberts is a star at Central Florida & Josh Weldon was a geek.

Offense

Strengths:
Every single starter is +90 OVR and there is only 1 underclassman (Jermaine Baker LG, but he’s good). The skill postions are solid with Sanchez and WRs Chris Richard and Anthony Thomas all rated 99. To get into mental shape the entire OLine went on a round-the-world team building trip. They experienced and learned about other cultures and found themselves on a spiritual level. In an exhibition game they took on New Zealands’s All Blacks in rugby and almost won. Now they have got into the habbit of doing the Haka and will perform it before all games. On the OL 4 of the starters were Five star recruits, however coach Namath will not hesitate to sub out anyone who gets knocked down a lot.

Concerns
JR QB Marcus Minor will have to cut down on his mistakes as he threw 20 INTs last year. Also there will be a switch to the Notre Dame book as Minor is more of pro-style QB and often had trouble running option plays in the melting pot playbook. The #2 RB will be used more as Seth Sanchez will be used more in the slot this year. Perriloux has talent but has fumble problems, Fletcher seems a bit slow at times and Thornton was the most improved RB, but he’s unproven. Someone will have to emerge as the successor to Seth Sanchez. TE Lucas Campbell is good receiver (he’s was the #1 rated WR in 2013) however he had problems blocking. And also there are annoying profs who sometimes overwork the boys

Defensive preview to come

not going to work so a bunch of games to be played. Spread for SVSW is 9.5 in favor of Alabama
