bama depth overpowers #2PSU

February 7, 2007 · 1 Comment

Tuscaloosa, AL – after a mediocre performance in SVSW, namath’s crimson tide squad upset #2 Penn St in dominating fashion. Marcus Minor led the charge throwing 4 TDs and for the first time since he was named starter as a Sophmore, Seth Sanchez was not the leading rusher; he had 62 yards and 1 TD. The only thing Penn St did right was contain Sanchez. So I simply put him in the slot (which usually attracted a double team) and back ups Aaron Perrilloux, who finished with 85 yards on 8 carries, was off and running. Patrick Thornton wasn’t that bad either, adding in 46 yards. Ek Chua also had his first big game with 4 catches for 89 yards and 1 TD. Penn St did a good job on the stars, but forgot about Bama’s depth.

As for the defense they finally got over their horrible performance against Arizona. At SVSW there were several fights on the sidelines, mostly between Jaymond Keller and his Hartselle entourage (there are 4 other players from there on my team and they all stink) and the safety tandem of Clarence Morgan and Charles Sanders, known as the “Drillaz” (think oil: morgan = calgary, sanders = odessa). The feud extended to the Penn State game but instead they were fighting for fumbles and INTs, which was good. Also RE Brent Trott is living up to the hype, he’s nuts. Knocked down their 99 OVR LT like 8 times.

Bama 41, Penn State 15

Key Stats
- Minor 18-25 249 yards 4 TDs 1 INT
- Sanchez 62 yards 1 TD, 3 REC 39 REC yards 1 TEC TD
- Perrilloux 85 yards, Thornton 62 yards
- EC Smith 4-89-1; Lucas Campbell 4-50

Bama is now #2 woohoo
