anthony thomas speaks out

February 11, 2007 · 1 Comment

With Alabama at 4-0 and ranked #2, one would figure team chemistry to be at all time time high, however it has been confirmed that Impact WR Anthony Thomas (OVR 99) is upset. The Virginia native has the most career receiving yards (1790) of any player on the current roster, however he feels that he deserves more touches. After four games Thomas is 5th on the team in receptions at 8. Sanchez has 17, SR Chris Richard & E.C. Smith have 13, while TE Lucas Campbell has 12. In protest Thomas has gone against team rules and formed a spoken word band that has appeared on several college radio stations. Not wanting to hurt team chemistry, in what is perhaps Bama’s best shot at a national title, Coach Namath has promised Thomas more touches if he stops with the spoken word.

leave it to a wht tackle from Hartselle to take away the headline from Marcus Minor in South Carolina. After throwing 4 TDs and learning to stay in the pocket, Minor and the Crimson Tide were set on a 52-21 victory and more importantly redeemed themselves from last year’s lost against bootleg USC. But somehow with about 20 seconds left in the game, FR Tackle T.J. Thornton was lined up at LE and he jumped offside, which of course led to the dreaded crash that has happened to me three other times in my dynasty.

The crash seems to be the result of the NIS where the coach complains about an offside call. Anyways like the BCS system, this frustrates me, but just like a skanky ex-girlfriend (errr sorry I meant non-skanky) I built a bridge and got over it. So I simmed the game and thankfully the sim engine ain’t broke. Minor had two less TDs, but about 100 more yards and Bama won 64-14. Also the sim did not hurt Minor or Sanchez’s heisman chances as both are currently 1,2 as the favorites.

key ‘Official’ SBD stats from sim
- Minor 19-29 335 yards 2 TDs ZERO INTs
- Sanchez 39 yards 2 TDs, 3 REC 74 yards
- Richard 6-70-1, E.C. Smith 4-113-1
- Trott 2 sacks

up next: #2 Alabama vs. #13 Arkansas GAME OF THE WEEK

always a tough game
