Okay I’ll be honest, most of the 2015 season has focused on Seth Sanchez, it even prompted the purchase of a real life jersey (thanks!). While all the attention on the Hispanic legend is justified, there are several other players on the Tide’s roster who have their overall rating at 99. And those other players came in handy against #17 Florida. The Gators were loaded with talent from the state of Alabama and their Defense was the best I’ve faced this year. They completely shut down the run, Sanchez would finish the night with 51 yards on 22 carries (2.3 average) and 0 TDs. Thankfully WRs Chris Richard and Anthony Thomas came through, but Eufaula Alabama’s Adam Martin (florida’s star CB / WR, he was sick) managed to break up plays in the endzone. With about 4 minutes left in the game, Alabama was down 21-10.
On 4th and 1 at the 20, Marcus Minor found Anthony Thomas in the endzone, but the two point conversion failed. UF 21, Bama 16. On the next series Bama kept Florida out of the endzone, ending in a Clarence Morgan INT. However once again on offense Sanchez was shut down and Bama found themselves at 4th and goal. Coach Namath called an ACE Slot formation run play (stubborn yes I know, I wanted so bad for Sanchez to get the winning TD), but I noticed that Florida was in the 4-3, up against my 3 WRs. So I quickly called an audible and made several route changes……

Bama failed the 2 point conversion again, but with momentum in their favor and the crowd going nuts they stopped the Gators. FG was hit for insurance
