Entries from April 2007

The 2017 Alabama squad has dedicated the upcoming game against rival Tennessee to Terrence Graves. In 2013 Graves was the Iron Bowl MVP, the SEC Championship Game MVP, the Sugar Bowl MVP, and the Heisman. His only blemish was a 23-20 loss* to Tennessee. The Crimson Tide sit at 7-0 while the Vols are 6-0. Last year’s game resulted in a 52-17 blowout in Knoxville for Alabama, however Vols running back George Butler (pictured above) ran for 152 yards and 2 TDs. Butler returns for his SR year having already rushed for 876 yards and 11 TDs. The #22 ranked Vols have had only one close game, a 51-48 win against Navy (Bama beat them 13-7); their most impressive victory came against Florida at the Swamp winning 35-21. Hopefully the home crowd and the two RB / two QB system will make Terrence Graves Day a success

* loss occured on Elvis’s birthday, Celine Dion performed with Elvis last night on American Idol, crazy stuff

With over 11 years of Dynasty play, I have come to realize that there are a couple certainties regarding the SEC West: Arkansas is tough, Auburn and LSU are a bitch and teams from the state of Mississippi suck. So with the Alabama Ole Miss game in Oxford, the media attention was on Meridian Mississippi’s Micky Daniels. Many Rebel fans jumped on the Tuscaloosa bandwagon once Irish Micky started winning games. Unfortunately he was also attracting the attention of various white supremacist. They criticized Coach Namath for the two QB system and demanded that black QB Chris Odom get no playing time. When the press asked Micky about his new supporters, he politely answered by saying “no comment”. This resulted in criticisms from both the white and black communities. (The Latino communities were in Biloxi gambling with their Seth Sanchez Vikings jerseys)
However………….
his actions on gameday spoke louder than words. During Alabama’s first offensive series, Micky Daniels pulled out a Confederate flag from his pants and did this:

he then gave the ball to Chris Odom and willfully took the headset and clipboard. The vocal racist minority was outraged, but Odom’s play soon changed their beliefs. Odom was near perfect in passing going 16-19 for 208 yards (1st 200+ yard game of the year for the Tide) and he had 3 total TDs. He was also not afraid to take a hit during option plays:

Inuit Ek Chua Smith also won over the hearts of the rednecks, making several amazing catches (flashback to Ek Chua’s 1st trip to Oxford). It was another victory for 7-0 Alabama, but more importantly, it was a victory for the Human race
Bama 49, Ole Miss 7

- Odom 16-19 208 yards 2 TDs, 34 yards rushing 1 TD
- Daniels 5-8 69 yards

gotta make this quick, because idol and they are out to save the whole country of africa is on and the canucks game (no I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon, LEAF FAN till i die but I fucki%^ hate Chris Pronger) Oh and………
RAPTORS RULE
as someone who has sat through Skydome and Babcock days, i would like to give myself a pat on the back for sticking with this team
anyways Georgia / Alabama matchups in my Dynasty are always classics, Matthew Stafford owned my ass for two years and in 2012 and 2013 Edward Durfee (who is my 97 OVR QB on the Browns in Madden) was a big time head ache. Georgia again had a top notch QB but he was injured. This resulted in an unexpected Bama blowout. Daniels once again was near perfect, but it was the two man RB threat that controlled the game. Patrick Thornton and Lonnie Fletcher were not heavily recruited. They were both late targets, who signed in the final week of recruiting. But I don’t know what the 2017 team would do without them. They ran over Georgia defenders and at times i felt like I was playing NCAA 2003 on rookie level. Defense was good as always forcing several turnovers
Bama 38, UGA 14
Douchewraps Key Stats of the Game
- Daniels 8-10 71 yards 2 TDs
Odom 3-10 44 yards 1 INT
- Fletcher 113 yards 1 TDs; Thronton 110 yards 1 TD
- Ek Chua 3-40-1; Hood 2-25-1
- Brink 2 INTs; Nunez 2 sacks

Lessons to learn from a run heavy team
- take advantage of every offensive possession, because you will only have about six (I play 6 minute quarters)
- ensure that your backups are ready to play (long possesions means lots of auto subs)
- always have 4 LBs (this helps against all the trick run plays)
with that in mind, Navy proved to be a tough opponent for the Crimson Tide. As part of the probation era rehab program, Coach Namath invited members of the Navy to Tuscaloosa early in the week to help discipline his team. However the training may have worked too much, as the offense was flat in the 1st half and Navy was up 7-0. But the 3rd quarter started with an 80 TD yard bomb to Ek Chua Smith. Ek Chua’s 6 receptions were all acrobatic, bringing back memories of Jason Weaver.

From that point on Alabama would only have two more offensive possesions, both resulting in FGs. Other than Ek Chua, the story of the game was Bama’s defense. With the long possesions, Bama’s backups saw a lot of PT, and all came up big. Navy rushed for over 200 yards and the trick run plays always fooled me, but there would be 3 or 4 other guys coming in to help out. Game ended when Navy chucked to ball into the endzone to what appeared to be an open WR, but within a second several members of the Tide were there to break it up

Bama 13, Navy 7
Douchwraps Key Stats of the Game
- Daniels 5-11 144 yards 1 TD 1 INT
- Odom 5-8 86 yards
- Fletcher 99 yards; Thronton 87 yards
- Ek Chua 6-167-1
- CB Pedro Johnson 6 tackles 1 INT
Bama remains at #15 and will play 5-0 Georgia at home next. The Bulldogs of Athens though have played weak competition so Bama should be heavy favorites

For the second year in a row an Alabama Defensive End was taken 1st overall in the Madden NFL Draft. Brent Trott was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals following the footsteps of Daniel Johnson, who was selected 1st overall by the Packers last year. This makes me wonder…. How the fu@& did i not win the National Title in 2015, I mean look at my defense. ALL FIRST ROUND PICKS!!!! Anyways I guess there is two words to explain this: MARCUS MINOR, who was taken 6th overall by the San Francisco 49ers
Draft Info

Trott pictured in his Bama days with last year’s DROY Alex Branch
Notes
- In total 14 Bama guys were taken in the draft, 10 in the first round.
- 3 year starter and Calgary native Clarence Morgan was taken 8th overall by the Chicago Bears and comes in with a 93 ovr rating
- User Team Cleveland Browns take a chance on 1 star punter Terrell Berry by drafting him in the 7th round
- Crennel leaves the Browns for Buffalo and Cleveland brings in some Asian content by hiring Norm Chow as the new Head Coach. Bret Favre is the OC

How foolish was I to think that a 24-7 lead at the half would result in a blowout win over Arkansas. Even though Alabama has dominated the win column in this series, the games always give myself and my players a headache
SBD flashback article on Arkansas
Before the game, it was discovered that starting LG JR Kenny Fanene, a pacific islander, was caught copying another kid’s homework. Normally Coach Namath would let this slide and see this incident as another attempt to keep minorities down in Alabama and also understand that Kenny was still heartbroken from high school (read his wiki page). But with the program under probation, Namath had no choice but to suspend Fanene for four games. His replacements, two heavily recruited redshirt Freshmen, were terrible. Thankfully a hyper active defense and a near perfect offense (minus the LG position) gave the Tide a 24-7 lead into the half

Jeremy Hood jumping for a TD catch
The 2nd half was an entirely different game. Led by JR QB Tiger Davis (88 OVR and one of the greatest CPU generated names ever) Arkansas would score17 straight points. Their secondary did their part, by swarming star WR Ek Chua Smith, who would finish with only 1 reception for 10 yards. And for the first time this season Micky Daniels was rattled. The Razorbacks had 2 CBs who were 90+ and I even tried to move Ek Chua to the slot to try and get a weaker CB on him, this did not work as it appeared that the AI was locked in on him . Thankfully this is a two QB system with WR depth. So with Daniels at QB during 1st and 2nd downs and Chris Odom on during 3rd downs, I decided to target my #4 WR SO Brian Allen. In one seires he would catch 4 passes for 65 yards, which eventually set up a 41 yard Field Goal.
But the game was not over; with just a 3 point lead and 19 seconds left, I started to have flashbacks of the Florida game from 2016, also known as “8 Seconds of Hell”. But the defense held tight and played a Prevent for the entire series…… except the last play on 4th down, where i rolled the dice and called a safety blitz.

Jamaal Austin managed to get the sack
Bama 27, Arkansas 24
Douchewraps Key Stats of the Game
- Daniels 8-14 131 yards 1 TD 1 INT 1 rushTD
- Odom 5-7 56 yards (came in mostly on 3rd downs)
- Fletcher 70 yards, Thornton 33 yards 1 TD
- Allen 4-65-0, Harris 2-42-0, Hood 3-27-1, Ek Chua 1-10-0
- Brink 2 FF, Austin 11 Tackles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 sack
#15 Bama has Navy up next, which should be a snoozer, but after that is a home game against undefeated Georgia

Sorry been away for a bit, loved seeing all my new nieces and nephews and my fam (nothing like rolling in a restaurant 3 times a day with a group of 25), but business is business. Before I left for T.O. my Bama team (which is on 2 year probation) tested its will power in Boulder, Colorado. The team sayed at The Lodge & Spa at Cordillera where they took advantage of the “Girl’s Night” special (which starts at $212 per night) and includes “in-room chick flicks with a welcome bottle of bubbly and gourmet truffled popcorn, 50-minute spa treatment per person (gab it up in our double massage room or enjoy some quiet time to yourself) and daily breakfast.”

The Lodge’s most famous resident, who is no longer allowed there
There were many other temptations too at the Spa, but the team stayed focused and no “known” incidents were reported. Even with the attractive hotel workers, Bama had one thing on their mind: “blow the living sh!% out of Colorado”. The team dedicated the game to female kickers and workers at the Spa (both have not been treated well in this state) and ran over the Buffaloes 62-14. The most impressive performance came from SR CB/KR/PR Trevor Gibson who shut down Colorado’s 90 OVR WR and returned 2 punts for TDs in one quarter.

Douchewraps Key Stats of the Game
- Daniels 13-16 136 yards 4 TDs!!!!!!!
- Odom 7-10 118, 1 rush TD
- Fletcher 85 yards, Thornton 69 yards 1 TD
- Ek Chua 6-103-2; Harris 3-50-1, Hood 2-29-1
- Brink 7 Tackles
- Gibson 142 PR yards 2 PRTDs
Up next for #16 Alabama, the SEC opener at Home against #15 Arkansas, always a tough game.
Also of note is Wisconsin’s 27-20 victory over Oklahoma. Both of these teams have dominated my Dynasty the last 3 years, Wisconsin won the NC in 2014, they split in 2015 and OU won last year in 2016.

(please take note of this blog’s banner, which has Devin Hester and Anthony Reddick pictured with their good friends, as to why the trip to Miami couldve been trouble for the Tide)
coach namath had three rules for his crimson tide squad, no beach, no little havanna, no trick daddy. this was tempation test #2 after the program had been put under probation by the ncaa. The team got through SVSW with no problems but Miami presented a bigger problem. Hispanic women, rich jewish girls on the beach in bikinis, drivers who don’t obey red lights, anti-castro cubans who miss Batista, and blow. But the team kept its focus, realizing that the NCAA would be on their
every move. They got through to gameday with only one problem, starting RG Mike Harrison body slammed and rear naked choked the Hotel Manager after his Donkey Magnolia’s Thunderbolt was denied entry into the hotel.
Unranked Miami was actually pretty tough against #17 Alabama, but the two QB / two RB system was slowly working in its gameplan, while the defense was swarming Miami ball carriers like Scarborough punks swarm gawky kids for cigarettes. In fact the only Hurricane TD was the result of a user controlled mistake (I pressed down while controlling a CB, when I should’ve pressed up). But the score was only 17-10 at the half. Then………………

FS Brian Oliver took over. Bama turned this game into a blowout in the 3rd quarter as Miami native Oliver had two INTs and last year’s Returner of the Year Trevor Gibson had a PRTD. Oliver had been called a sellout the entire game, but Inuit American Ek Chua Smith gave him some magic Lakota Pills to phase out the crowd. The momentum from the INTs and the PRTD was too much and the backups were in by the start of the 4th Quarter
Bama 52, The “U” 10
Key Stats brought to you by “Douchwraps”
- Daniels 11-14 142 yards 2 TDs
- Odom 3-4 51 yards
- Fletcher 95 yards 1 TD; 2-27-1
- Thronton 105 yards 2 TDs
- Ek Chua 5-77-0; Hood 3-42-0; Eric Coleman 3-39-1
- Harrison 3 Pancakes and basically the reason for the high rush yards (his donkey was in the crowd, the NCAA is investigating whether or not this was paid for by the school)
- In scrub time rsFR Leon Frazier looked like Terrence Graves, he scrambled for 1 TD
- ex-Tide member Tanard Walker did a decent job of keeping Ek Chua out of the end zone
bama is now 2-0 still ranked #17 with Colorado up next. SBD powerhouses #1 Oklahoma and #3 Wisconsin square off in what is perhaps the non-conference game of the year
more important however is that the Tide are trying to recruit the North Carolina SS listed below, who has never met the father that abandoned him as a baby

you know you’re doing well when your #5 WR catches a 52 yard bomb for a TD. The egg may be in jeopardy (thanks to Zona JR QB Robert Campenella 95 OVR 249 yards 2 TDs), but the 2017 South vs. Southwest (SVSW) game proved that this year’s Bama team is willing to work together. The two QB system worked effectively as did the two RB system. The defense was fast and was all about swarming. As soon as one person caught a ball, 5 guys were on him. Basically the team put the scoreboard ahead of individual stats.
However it was nice to see Corso and the crew name first time starter Jamaal Austin as the impact player and he did not disappoint in his debut with 7 tackles and 1 forced fumble. MVP went to CB Pedro Johnson who had an INT TD that sparked things off and did a good job covering some jerk store wearing Jason Weaver’s #19. But in all honesty it could have gone to several other players.
Other notes:
- FR Cole Green caught his 1st career pass, which was a 52 yard TD
- Arizona RB was Jon Clarrett, Maurcie’s cousin
- FR SS Jonathan Logan was put out of the game during the opening kickoff with a pinched nerve
- For the first time in SVSW history, The Crimson Tide team did not party. Instead they were sent to their rooms
- Defense was awesome!!!!!!

Cole Green with a TD

Defense swarms Clarett
Douchewraps Key Stats

- Ek Chua 4-67-0; C.Green 1-52-1
- RG Mike Harrison 6 Pancakes!!!!

for all those that remember temptation island say “Yeeeeeaaaaahhhhh”
with the Crimson Tide on probation the religious folks wanted the team to schedule games at Provo and South Bend, however the program has decided to test its team before it heads into SEC play. The season opens with SVSW, which is always a huge party, but then there are road trips to Miami and Colorado. Its a good sign, if they can get through the Canes without a brawl and if there are no 911 or Dateline calls during their stay at the The Lodge and Spa at Cordillera in Edwards, CO.There is even a home game vs. Navy to help discipline the boys. As for the SEC, its a blessing as there is no Florida and all the tough SEC game, except Auburn, are at home
